There's no better time than the 4th of July. Probably one of our favorite holidays, the 4th is a time to spend surrounded by family and friends- watching fireworks, eating hot dogs, and relaxing on the beach. What could be better? But before you can take off on your extended weekend getaway, you'll need to find an ultra chic red, white, and blue outfit that is anything but ordinary. Say goodbye to your striped t-shirts of the past and hello to 5 untraditional 4th of July outfit ideas that are totally Instagram worthy.
Even though you may not be attending a family BBQ, that doesn't mean you can't enjoy a hot dog. While walking down the street to your nearby food cart (since you never know when a photo op might arise), change up your well-worn reds, whites, and blues. Break up a traditional matching set with a vintage or graphic tee. Tie the top to your set around your neck for a nautical feel. Finish off your look with bright blue sunnies and crisp white espadrilles for an ultra preppy, yet edgy, 4th of July feel.

If you're heading to a beachside bar, this look is for you. Polished yet fun, because we love a good contrast, pair your wide leg breezy pants with a shirt that speaks for itself. Tie your look together with some statement accessories like a pom-pom straw bag, oversized (red of course) sunglasses, and ultra chic mules that can easily be removed should you decide to take a late night walk on the beach.

You never know when a summer night might get a bit chilly, especially if you're at the shore. When attending an after dark bonfire or fireworks show make sure to opt for a layered look so you don't get cold, because comfort really is key. Pair your geometrically patterned red, white, and blue skirt with an oversized crew neck. And if you're really feeling the 4th of July spirit, look for one with stars.

If you're a no muss no fuss kind of girl, then a jumpsuit is for you. One piece outfits, especially when made of a super luxe (and stretchy!) material allows you to dance the night away and mingle without having to worry about any wardrobe malfunctions. Plus, if you decide to indulge on one too many s'mores, this outfit is very forgiving. Accessorize your polished getup with a straw clutch and hat for a more beachy vibe.

Heading for a dip at the beach or your nearby pool? Look for an all red bathing suit a la Baywatch. Layer your swimsuit under a pair of high-waisted jeans for a retro feel that can take you from the beach to the bar. No belt? No problem! Tie your grandma's silk scarf around your waist and you're good to go! Or should your hair get frizzy from all of the humidity, the scarf can easily double as a headband.
