Everything We Learned From Our Dating Advice Mentor Monday's With Bloomingdales
On Monday, November 18th, Caroline hosted the third Making it in Manhattan Mentor Monday’s in collaboration with Bloomingdales. Open to the public, the series of panels highlights remarkable women sharing how they built their careers and got to where they are today.
This month’s panel featured five amazing women who have one thing in common: They all work in and around the world of dating. To start off, we had Caila Quinn from the 20th season of ABC’s The Bachelor.
Hannah Orenstein shared her advice as Elite Daily’s Senior Dating Editor and the author of three novels. She even got her start working as a matchmaker!
Next up was Kim Duong, Stylecaster’s Fashion & Lifestyle Editor. She covers love and sex on a regular basis.
Mandy Ansari brought in the app side, as the Field Marketing Lead at Bumble.
Rounding out the panel was Sara Levine, founder of the Not Another True Crime podcast and Editor in Chief of Betches.
Here are some of our key takeaways and major dating advice for New Yorkers….
After a breakup, cut off all communication or at LEAST 90 days. No texts, calls, emails, or even social media stalking. In fact, it’s best to just block them on all platforms all together.
Don’t be afraid to do some social media stalking before a date. Then you know what you’re getting into, plus you can cross reference the facts!
Pay attention to the red flags, how do they treat their friends, family, roommates? That can stay a lot about how they will treat you!
A new dating trend as told by Betches EIC is zombieing, similar to ghosting except this time they come back from the dead with an out of no where text or dm.
When balancing work and dating, set a time in your calendar just like you would a meeting, maybe every Tuesday night at 7pm, that is date night. Leave that time blocked off always so you stick to it.
And also, most of what we see on the Bachelor is real…in case you we’re wondering!
Stay tuned for the next Mentor Monday’s coming next month!
