It seems like lately you can’t scroll on your phone without seeing that “today is National ________ Day.” Whether it’s National Ice Cream Day, National Wine Day, National Best Friends Day or National Crayon Day, these days are simply made for Instagram. We scoured nationaldaycalendar.com to bring you some of the most fun, colorful, and delicious ones to celebrate this spring that are also totally Insta-worthy!

March

March 9: National Barbie Day

You can celebrate the original fashion icon herself by donning your favorite pink outfit, heart-shaped sunnies, and cute purse and snapping a pic on 5th Avenue! You could also go to your favorite drink spot and order a pretty pink Cosmopolitan, or even plan a girl’s night with a few of your friends and some aesthetically pleasing color-coordinated snacks to pay homage to everyone’s favorite fashion doll!

March 14: National Potato Chip Day

Whether it’s Lay’s, Doritos, Hal’s or Wise, grab a bag of your favorite crispy chips and snap a selfie with it! You could, of course, opt for a flat-lay spread featuring bowls of your favorite chips as well. Not only will you have snacks for days, but a colorful picture for the ’gram!

March 31: National Crayon Day

Nothing beats a beautiful new box of crayons—perfectly sharpened in nice even rows, arranged in rainbow order! It’s not only easy on the eyes, but it’s inspiring as well! You can pick your favorite color and dress in it from head to toe (complete with socks in your favorite hue from Crayola shown here) or pick up a coloring book and post a cute time-lapse video of yourself creating a one-of-a-kind masterpiece!

April

April 3: National Find A Rainbow Day

The best thing about the rain is the rainbow that inevitably reveals itself at some point after the fact! Shall we flash back to a year ago when people were drawing rainbows with chalk on the sidewalks or hanging pictures of rainbows in their windows signifying us all being safe at home in the midst of a pandemic? Rainbows have become a sign of comfort, and if there’s no rain in sight on April 3, fear not! Create your own rainbow! Whether you opt for a rainbow manicure, choose to color a simple one on paper (using your crayons from National Crayon Day *wink wink!*), or don a multicolored dress like this one, however you celebrate is worthy of a snap shared to Instagram!

April 16: National Wear Pajamas To Work Day

Here we have another pandemic-friendly day that is literally made for social media these days! It seems loungewear and pajamas have become the new uniform of so many people in the last year thanks to working remotely, and a lot of companies have taken notice and released—dare we say—some extremely chic pajama and lounge sets! Be sure to take a mirror selfie in your cutest work-from-home attire, or get a pic with a sliver of your cute pajama top or bottoms featuring your laptop and morning cup of coffee!

4/26: National Pretzel Day

Grab a friend and head over to the closest jumbo soft pretzel cart you can find. Not only do you have a perfect prop for this holiday, but you have a delicious snack once you get your shot! Have them take a few pics of you adding mustard before taking a bite, and then make a fun stop-motion video. For a fun effect, try holding it forward or tossing it toward the camera! (Word of advice: consider getting an extra or two in case your pretzel falls! Worst case scenario, you don’t use it and you can give it to your photographer friend as a thank you!)

May

May 4: National Orange Juice Day

Anyone else automatically associate orange juice with mimosas? Well, being that National Orange Juice Day falls on a Tuesday this year, our suggestion for a boozy brunch may not be applicable (or the best idea!) for everyone. If you’re not currently working or are your own boss (or have an extremely chill boss), then this could be a possibility! You could always stock up on potential mimosa-grams the weekend before when you hit your favorite brunch spot. If nighttime drinks are more your style, you could always mix up an aesthetically-pleasing Screwdriver or Tequila Sunrise at home. Call us crazy, but there is always the option of a nice cold glass of (non-alcoholic) OJ in the morning with your breakfast as well!

May 13: National Apple Pie Day

The most patriotic of desserts, it’s no surprise that apple pie has its own special day! By itself or à la mode, a hearty slice of apple pie will no doubt bring a smile to your face, and will certainly sweeten up your Instagram feed. If you’re not in the mood to spend a huge chunk of change at a local bakery, you can test out your culinary skills and try to bake one. Be sure to film it and you can even make a fun BTS video of your baking!

May 25: National Wine Day

Here we have the perfect excuse for a virtual or in-person happy hour. Whether your preference is red, white or rosé, grab a couple of besties or your boo, snap a classic “cheers!” Boomerang, some fun pics and get to making some memories! (Drink responsibly and make sure you don't need the photos the next day to remember!)

May 28: National Hamburger Day

If you type “best hamburger in NY” in your search engine, you’re provided with no shortage of lists comprised of restaurants throughout the five boroughs of New York City, each with a signature burger with something special to offer. No matter your whereabouts, you’ll certainly be able to find a burger that satisfies your hunger to celebrate this most delicious day!
