There’s no denying that dresses are having a moment this year, and that’s only to be amplified by the influx of events during the holiday season. As they say, what’s old is new again, especially when it comes to fashion. I mean, we can’t say we were expecting to opt for a bandage dress again any time soon (hello, 2008!), but never say never.

We’re peering back at decades past for inspiration for the ultimate holiday attire. From the understatedly chic frocks of the 60’s to statement-making minis of the 80’s, there’s sure to be one-of-a-kind inspiration for every event on your Google Cal.

Inspired by the ’60s, the mini shift is the perfect dress to channel that decade. It’s fun and flirty without being too revealing— the perfect option for a holiday party with the family or at the office. Opt for an option with sequins or bold color for a little extra something.

Nothing says the ‘70s like a jumpsuit. The best part, they’re actually comfortable for long nights out on the town and flattering for every body type. Pair it with a glam handbag, and you’re good-to-good!

The ’80s was all about making a statement, and we’re so here for it. The strong shoulder mini dress is of-the-moment with just enough retro flair for an eye-catching look. It’s already made appearances on the runways and your favorite IG accounts’ feeds, now it’s your turn to take this number for a spin!

In the ’90s, minimalistic and sexy was the name of the game. Style it up with high-shine accessories for an extra glam look, or keep it simple and let the dress do the talking. Either way, it’s easy to make it your own this holiday season.

The early aughts is already retro, and we may be freaking out just a bit… But, we’re not mad about these updated renditions to the bandage dress. Although we like to think they’re a bit chicer this time around, they still make the ultimate party dress.
